graduation time is here again la la la la laaaaaa

okay okay take a deeeep breath okay okay (said in this style but not quite so psycopathacally (yes I have just made that word up even though I am still sporting this style hair cut) okay so far I've....

  • seen a dance off between General Mcarthy leader of the Allied forces in Japan and head of the Japanese portion of the G.H.Q complete with songs this of course will be talked about later.

  • Consumed possibly the best meal....Ever to pass over these fine English teeth.

  • Visited a business conference in Tokyo, well Yokohamma but that's close enough, although that's probably like saying England is a part of Russia (its not is it? I know I've been away for a while)

  • stayed in my first capsule hotel although not my last.

  • Managed to see almost all the touristy things one has to do in Tokyo in a single day (although my poor poor feet don't thank me for it)

  • Drank in the smallest bar I've ever been in which charged me a 1000 yen for the pleasure.

  • Went to another bar in which the drinks menu was read to us by a bear and then delivered by a man doing Kung foo, while wearing large comedy glasses and drinking from a vibrating glass (me, not the man doing Kung foo)

But before I attempt to write any of that, or rather as I usually do mention it and then never talk about it again, I should mention (and write about) my day.
So this morning I pressed my white shirt, donned my white tie, put on my best black suit and rode to school on my badass blue ladies bike (I call her Miss Marple!) as yep its school graduation day hurrarrr..
Last year we had several students (most of whom actually never came to school) arrive at the graduation in a variety of bright, hand stitched outfits, which although initially looking like a J pop meeting but actually turned out to be gang colours (although the gang who have to wear neon pink must be the toughest in this village), oh their parents must be so proud! Sadly this year it was a sea of black uniforms, although judging by the many many cans of black spray hair dye on my teachers desk their were a few dye jobs before the doo, well either that or he really wanted to get rid of his grey hair. As students automatically graduate from junior high school, no matter what (they pretty much have to try to burn the school down to not graduate) there's usually a few "wait you come to school here?" moments as I watch the students accept their scroll, although this year the official school "bad girl" (which means wandering into the teachers rooms and squealing in a high voice until she gets attention, or standing around in the balcony during school meetings in the gym) did the ultimate bad ass thing and turned up in a perfectly pressed uniform and was a model student through the ceremony which is far more "Hey I CAN do well when I want to" to the teachers badassnessssss than the bad boy who basically did what he did every class and lounge around like he has no bones in his body, with a scruff ed up 4 sizes too big uniform (actually what is it with bad kids in Japan and ridiculously large trousers? I'm not sure how looking like you have rickets proves a bad ass quality but hey I must be missing something) with a look of absolute disdain on his face throughout, although amusingly when he realised the official graduation ceremony video camera was on him he suddenly remembered the words to the school song... yeah truly bad ass. Speaking on which I've become pretty adapt at singing the school song, well making various sounds while moving my mouth around. And genuinely felt a little sad during the afternoon when all the students were taking pictures of each other, as most are off to high school I just hope they all try their best, or at least find uniforms that fit.

School headmaster clothes watch SPECIAL; white shirt, black shoes, grey stripped trousers, long black coat.

Headmaster style watch; Either he's missing his top hat and the 19Th century or he's about the regale us with witty tunes from his piano.
