gales and storms, technology and suspicous drinks

The title juuust about sums up this past weekend, first Japan has been hit by some proper face slapping teeth chattering hair err nattering(?!?!) weather, with our trusty old apartment shaking around in the snow whipped wind, so what better time than to have guests around as One of T.O.H friend travelled over from Osaka to our tiny, tiny ohhhh so tiny village to check out the busy heart of Gamo cho.
I think his array of Japanese songs managed to impresse the locals who always seem to look at me in a "Now why don't YOU learn that amount of Japanese then we can sing songs every night" kind of way still its either that or them asking the When are you going to start having children? question which usuaully comes out as them simply saying "baby? babby?? Babbyyy??!?" over and over until you agree that yes having children is the only logical step to take...
Annyyyyyway we overall managed 4 hours of Karaoke and I only had to inflict my voice on 3 occasions ( yes almost three years here have made me realise that I sound like someone scrapping a cat against a blackboard) better yet the booze shop/secret Karaoke parlour owner even gave us a lift back to our apartment despite us only living 5 minutes down the road. The next morning a old man from our village (an old man in a village of old men in a city of old men living in a land of old men) came to our door bearing an array of home made/grown gifts including a huuuuuge cabbage, and a large bottle of err something extremely cloudy and smelling slightly of vegtables, which upon sampling appears to be either home made sake or something to defrost the pipes with. Still no complaining on our part especially as the whole reason for the gifts was from a drunken conversation we had over 5 months ago... oh yes the people in my village may be old but they never forget.... well except my name but apart from that NEVER!

Headmaster clothes watch; a fluffy looking brown suit, white shirt, blue tie with silver dotted line running down the middle.
Headmaster style watch; Think Tron but slightly more rounder, without the eighties graphics and without the helmets oh and neon. So really not like tron at all
