Neon namba

Somewhat slumped over the school computers today after having a whole day of first year lessons and then heading over to Namba hatch in Osaka to watch The Arcade fire... which frankly was amazing from start to finish. The gradual openers of Neon bible gave way to a frenzied hour and a bit with the the band carrying a load of energy throughout their set and worked so well together, especially the constantly changing percussion section (hey nothings better than watching 2 people smash symbols in time) that just slayed it for me. Possibly next time they shouldn't worry that people don't speak English as Win's between song comments consisted of "Arigato" oh and "your pop music is really fu##ing bad". But as this was the first time I've seen them its possible he says that in everyplace. Due to its size Namba hatch is proving to be a good place to watch shows, its small enough that your close up and personal but not too small that is like this. Oh and its has fortune tellers downstairs, how many places can say that?( well except for the charlotte in Leicester (always a good venue) that probably has a fortune teller but you have to buy them a snakebite and black for it)

Oh and should mention that my compute has apparently reallllllly broken and the cost of sending it to England (as apparently a Japanese company can't fix it!?!) is not exactly worth it. So its off to Den Den town at the weekend to try to hunt down a cheapy one to use till we head back in August.

This week I've had to start thinking about valentines day actually for school (which sounds a littttle creepy when I write that) lessons, Notes and the writing/distribution (and in today's lesson the careful disposal off) is a constant in Japanese schools so I think valentine cards will be somewhat easier to explain... But for those people out there that feel candle lit dinners and James Blunt records aren't your thing (and frankly I don't think James Blunt is any ones "thing") then The My bloody Valentine night down in England's small London village (apparently its the capital of England how strange!) might offer an alternative find the face book profile here (yes I am all high tech with my facebook profile thing)
