Manage to come third last night in the pub quiz, which is a fair enough result when there was only three of us, although the fact that the winners were two old men who were clearly using their mobile phones to get the answers was somewhat annoying.
Not sure if our evil stares might prevent such cheating next week, the mobile phone the scourge of honest losing pub quizzes everywhere I long for the day where I find a quiz with its own mini EMP generator, speaking of which where is my jet pack?
Being Human has gotten better and better and Sundays penultimate episode was a corker complete with jokes, ghosts, killer boyfriends, doors to the afterlife and steaks lots of steaks, oh and a proper WAH! cliff hanger ending. I like that fact the writers are slowly revealing their mythology (see steaks lots of steaks) of the various supernatural beings, and hinting at some rather dark things that happen to you when you die. I'm wondering if they'll introduce more supernatural things come the second series, anyway roll on Sunday and the hopefully as equally gripping final episode.
Also it appears that the 80's fashion come back that has been threatened but so far pushed away like an unwelcome suiter in a cheap nightclub might be about to get its dirty hands around the public, seriously people do not forget the horror of shoulder pads! Richard Bacon (who whilst not exactly best dressed man of the year but a general example of what your average day time/weekend presenter is sporting) was actually wearing what apeared to be a thin shiny jacket complete with rolled up sleeves. Now irony is often banded around but look this is getting serious just imagine everyone wearing harem trousers that look like your smuggling goods strapped your thighs! Day glow! Its all going to end badly or we all look like La Roux and no one wants that do we?
For pancake day I made what we imaginably christened a pancake pie. Basically a filling of Realeats fake chicken, leeks mushrooms and tarragon, simmered in stock and then added to a home made white sauce and cheese before being stuffed into pancakes and then topped with cheese and baked in the oven, it didn't quite start this way but it turns out that tossing a pancake is more difficult than I remember from last year. Anyway I've got a bit of adjusting to do on the recipe but if it all works will try to get around to posting it here.
Right that's all off to potter and tidy or tidy and potter which ever comes first, in the meantime Peter Bjorn and John's new single Nothing to worry about is rather good, rather catchy and is filmed in Harajuku on my last trip to Tokyo I visited the park where this was filmed and actually watched these rockabilly's go, the guy in the long leopard skin coat was my favourite as hes clearly the manager of a 7/11 during weekdays but come weekends he is "Billy" dancer with a dream (and thin mustache)
