Loveu Loveu at the BBQ

With this being the last few weeks that I get a chance to stagger around Japan it means my days of all you can eats, BBQ's and beer trains are almost over (they haven't introduced the midland mainline beer train have they?) . Last week one of the (many) old men in our village who I think actually owns half the fields around here, and there are a lot of fields, heard we were leaving so decided to hold a village leaving BBQ for us, so we find a host of young and old guys at his house, the beer on tap machine is primed, he's gone out and bought authentic Omi beef (none of this Kobe filth for me just true local produce only) and from 5 to 11.30 we drink and stuff ourselves silly. Thankfully I managed to avoid the stomach meat which for some amazing reason always makes me feel a little sick. At the end of the night each person had to stand up and give a little speech about us and while most consisted of "baby, baby" or alternativly "Baby when?"they did say that they hoped we would come back to Japan (with a baby of course) soon, the best speech, well best is a relative term I suppose, came towards the end when one guy revealed that from his house he could see directly into our apartment, the good news is that what he saw in it was "loveu Loveu!" which could either be his was saying he saw a happy life or......... err actually lets not think about that and just be glad I've put sheeting over windows.
